Many people find it's useful to run the perl download manager in an xterm like:
/usr/X11R6/bin/xterm -e /usr/local/bin/decrypt_emp.pl $empfile

If the above line doesn't work to add the emusic search then copy these two files into your searchplugins directory. Usually /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/searchplugins or c:\program files\mozilla-firefox\searchplugins. You will need to restart Firefox for these settings to take effect
